FROM THEIR WEBSITE:
Fenton Art Glass Company is the largest manufacturer of handmade colored glass in the United States. Each piece of Fenton will beautify a home or personal collection. Fenton is sold through thousands of retail outlets across the United States, Canada and Australia. Since 1988, QVC Network and Fenton Art Glass have worked together in partnership. The Fenton Company has been rated one of the United States top "places to see," and Rand McNally has recognized Fenton as a premier "must see" stop in their 2006 Road Atlas.
Each piece of Fenton is made by hand individually in the USA. Fenton is located in Williamstown, West Virginia along the Ohio River where nearly 300 talented artists craft and decorate their incredible glassware.
Fenton produces "color." That's what they’re known for. "We produce the most diverse color palette of any art glass producer in the world at the highest quality standards," says Scott Fenton, 4th generation family member.
No two pieces of Fenton are alike and each resembles a rare piece of American history. All Fentonware is considered “collectible,” yet each piece is stand along and cherished by those who receive it as a gift.
A little Fenton history…
The Fenton Art Glass Company was founded in 1905 by Frank L. Fenton and his brother John W. Fenton in an old glass factory building in Martins Ferry, Ohio. They began by painting decorations on glass blanks made by other glass manufacturers. Soon, being unable to get the glass they needed, they decided to produce their own glass. The first glass from the new Fenton factory in Williamstown, West Virginia, was made on January 2, 1907.
